[LBP] How to deal with very rude players/creators

Oh hey, I didn't see you there weirdo! Well since your here, I might explain what has been going on around LBP 1/LBP 2/LBP 3/LBPK.
Normally there are certain players out there who want to be mean to you, make fun of you, or ruin your repetition to others out there in the world by trolling you. I remember the day where it first happened where this guy who I made a good creator, all a sudden turned all mean, and unadded me because "You do whatever you want Pete, and don't listen", I followed his rules all the time, and he unadded me because of that. Here let me show you a few tricks to get to know the right type of people so you don't end up like this guy. Stick with the right players: Little Big Planet is just like School, it allows you to learn some Physics early, and allows you to hang with people on the internet, that may, or may not be friendly. A good way to tell if there nice people is by actually talking to them. Not talking to them will have no effect on you, or others. Just like at school when its your very first day, you always want to find the right people. When you find someone in a game make sure to say hello at least, that way we can already tell if there mature enough to talk to you. (If players do not respond/talk) If players do not talk to you/respond they may not know how to read, or speak your language, which goes to show that the player may be a young child still learning how to read, or a mature adult who doesn't know your language yet. But even if there not there, they might. There are a lot of scenarios that can be made up playing throughout the game, if the guy looks nice/acts nice at least say "hey", or something like that, all players deserve a chance to be introduced by others, even you my friends . Finding Bully's/rude people being mean to you: If you find someone being mean to you, or to someone else. At least tell them to stop, if not a good way to actually get them out of your hair, if some guy is ticking you off just leave with your friend, to avoid the problem. :3 Planning on creating a group with others: If your planning on creating a group with others/friends. Make sure they are trusted, and have enough skill to build with you. Its okay if someone is having difficulty trying to create, but if they are just tell them "Hey do you need help?", or something similar. So instead of saying "No", or "That's stupid", say "Good job, just keep trying!", or something like that. Remember you don't have to be perfect at something just to help others, you just need to be very nice about things, acting rude for example could possibly disband your group, even worse your friends. So if something looks really terrible like really really terrible, instead of saying "No, this sucks", try saying "I like this idea a lot! Maybe I could help give it improvements with you ", or something similar like that. Try, and be nice to others as possible . That's all for now, I will make sure to update this thread if I see any of this going around on LBP . If a Mod, or any staff member above the rank see's this please lock it due to the following, upcoming flame war possiblythread is outdated/no longer needed. Thank you =). |

And one more tip: Ignore them if he really hates you.

erm... trying to get someone to swear so that you can report them (because you don't like them) is definitely not a mature thing to do. if someone is being rude then just leave. I think that trying to manipulate others into doing something that you can report is downright nasty.. so no.. I don't agree with that at all
there are reasons to report.. but reasons like that are unnecessary. a person who is truly mature, isn't going to go around reporting people for minor things. so think about whether or not something is truly worthy of reporting before you find that "good grief" button. people out there in the world may offend you occasionally.. but it's good to try to be the bigger person. in the words of Stephen Fry: " It's now very common to hear people say ' I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights; It's actually nothing more... It's simply a whine. It's no more than a whine. ' I find that offensive.' It has no meaning. It has no purpose. It has no reason to be respected as a phrase. ' I am offended by that.' Well so ******* what?" - Stephen Fry |

Thanks but what I meant by trying to make them mad is just a way of how I do things. Back in the day on LBP 2 I went threw some very nasty things being made fun of, a way I took care of it is by acting all smart. For example if someone says "Your dumb pete!", I would respond back "k" (To avoid a flame war), or "How so am I dumb", but that's just me. Sometimes its recommended to leave if someone keeps arguing with you over small things, and you need a break from them. But thanks for the tip, I will remove that as soon as possible . |

this topic. If you don't like someone, don't talk to them. Their opinion is irrelevant unless you make it relevant. There's no need to actually care.

This thread is actually pretty old, and outdated.
I was planning to expand it, but since I don't really have the PlayStation Membership (Gold premium features), I'm not able to play with my old friends to meet more, and more lel, if you have rude comments you have to make about my thread, don't even talk about it. To look professional try to act mature reducing things that may make others mean. I can't really tell if your making fun of this thread, or not but that's just me when I meet players who act like there really smart . Actually come to think of it, you some what reminded me to lock the thread to avoid future flame wars, thank you . |

The moderators won't do anything. If they were actually good, all of the trolls and copiers would be banned by now.

Tynz, isn't discarding somebodies opinion on the basis that you don't like them a fallacy though?

Sure it is, if you're having a debate or something... but if you're playing an online game I see no issue with ignoring a player you find distasteful. I've bit my tongue on my fair share of rude/ill informed remarks directed at me.
And no I am not a troll, I actually have a pretty substantial amount of experience with the game. I just find some parts of this topic are not entirely sensible from where I stand. But if you don't like that, feel free to take my advice and pretend I don't exist. |

I mean.. if someone's "opinion" is simply an insult towards you than it may be best to ignore it. in most cases, these people are doing this because they like to upset people and get a reply.
but on the other hand, when I started this game, I've had some well known creators tell me things like " you're just some noob. your opinion doesn't even matter" or, "who are you to talk? you don't even have levels." (and of coarse, these sort of things were in response to my feedback on their level) and that was pretty arrogant of them to think that my opinion was somehow less valid than anyone elses. and whether it's a game, social media or every day life, these are still real interactions. reminds me of something that xTrilexx said to someone that told him that his opinion didn't matter because he was only a music creator. "You don't have to be a chef to know what bad food tastes like." - xTrilexx |

"You don't have to be a chef to know what bad food tastes like"
-xTrilexx This is basically my thoughts when I try to give people advice on their platformers and they get mad because I've never really made platformer levels... |

I will often reply back to the haters but not as a hater, more because it's funny. Then I will see how they respond to that and after some more analyzing I can draw a pretty good conclusion about their age, gender, personality and what kind of motives they had when they decided to leave that nasty comment. Instead of ignoring it I help them to overcome their personal issues and if they're too mentally unstable I will simply leave them alone. They will sooner or later learn to respect you and you can smile afterwards because you know that the truth always hurts when dealing with haters.

When it comes to very rude comments/reviews, I simply thumb 'em down and delete them so I don't have to see their words of poison anymore. I block (and have blocked) repeat offenders.
Comments that are racist, aggressive cyber bullying, or strongly inappropriate for the game, I Good Grief even if it's on someone else's earth. No one should have to put up with these type of people. Fool me once...shame on you. Fool me twice...shame on me get out. |

Yeah, well I hate racism. I'm half Japanese and some twerps are complete nutshells who can just make you turn red with anger just by using that information.
And like Blacksackman said, I actually find it funny, mainly since they try to make you see your imperfections when really, they could also do the same thing as well I see a lot of people discouraging other people, and sometimes, if I go to play a sport against another school or have to go to an area, I can see a lot of kids who look absolutely dead. Not literally dead DEAD, but their 'candle wick' has died out. |
