3D lbp

Hey guys I just want to know if anyone on LBF is interested in some 3d capabilities for future LBP games. I feel like the 3d camera on lbp2 is good, but we can make even better stuff if the creators added in 3d content. So yeah I'm excited for 3d in lbp!

I would love seeing a whole 3D LBP Create Mode. But this might be a challenge for multiple reasons, mostly loading time and rendering.

I think the easiest way would be to give us ~103 layers to build on (even if you sack can only move on the normal three).
Include a new 3D setting (where you choose to make it a co-op level, Vs level or cinematic - you could choose 3D Co-op or 3D Vs) The 3D setting would simply swap the vertical and horizontal surfaces so all sacks/bots walk on the background/wall instead of the 'floor'. Although some of the background themes wouldn't be compatible or would have to be remade. Here's the best example of what I mean, that's been replicated in LBP2: http://lbp.me/v/0e851x |

I know. I just cancelled sonic 3d because the 3d camera won't work. And yes I would definitely like a setting like that. It's so hard to create 3d platformers and games with just the few glitched 3d tools in lbp. Just imagine being able to create a 3d rpg or platformer with the new tools you described. That would be amazing!

3D for LBP would be really cool but I think the feeling of the good old LBP series would be lost if they make it 3D and not 2,5D! So I hope LBP3 will be normal like LBP2 or LBPV but with more cool things and features!

Im fine with lbp being 2.5d. I find that in 3-D creation games you don't have as much freedom as you do in lbp. Games like: project spark, modnation racers and all level creators inside of shooters games, E.g. Halo's forge mode ETC. all have you select from pre-made 3-d models. Because making good 3-d models is hard and extremely time consuming.
But then again, first game to pull it off and make it easy to create good 3-d models will become an instant game of the year |

Yeah I changed my mind. I realized that its kind of possible to make 3d stuff in lbp2, but the 3d doesn't really add anything amazing. I did plenty of 3d experiments in lbp2, and they're weren't that great.
