Please do not hesitate to ask any question or doubt about the rules and how they will be applied, we all want some really awesome entries! @ToonLucas22: I supose you are asking that what if the first place, and both second and third place creators already own a crown. Well, that is a REALLY improbable scenario, but there could be various ways to sort it out. Maybe if they worked in teams and a companion isn't part of the royal LBP family, it would go to him. Anyway, if that's not the case, we (the judges) would have a private chat and maybe would give it to the next runner up (the fourth place). Again, don't worry much about that. It is extremely unlikely to happen, as people who often participate are actually looking for a crown, if they already have one they wouldn't come so eagerly.

Only one person will get the crown (which usually is the profile whose Earth contains the winner level, UNLESS that person already owns a crown, therefore another member of the team would be awarded with it.) but yes, we only have one code.

@yoghurt2000 The whole level needs to be a big factory, That means you have to think about a good theme for a factory and than you have to think about fitting obstacles and a product for it. There are enough machines the can excist in a factory. Something that lbp needs lot of means that the product doesnt have to excist in the reallife too. As a result of this you can also create machines that none factory on earth would use to produce something. Be creative! *Edited my post*

I am not sure, but it should already be in operation but you can create a level where you have to activate the factory at the beginning and the other part of the level plays in the actived factory. I can give you exact information on the next day when the other moderators are online and I can ask them. We only thought about a factory in that already is in operation. None had your idea. So you have to wait a little bit for your answer

@DawnBreaker_23: Not really sure what you refer to: 1) Well, that does really depends. Yes, you can make a small intro to your sackthing arriving to the factory but MOST of the level should be INSIDE the actual FACTORY, along with MOST of the gameplay. So if you are planning to make a level which objective is to arrive to a factory but the whole level is for example in a forest, that would be breaking the rules. 2) Or if you are referring as a factory that is not inside a building, but for example a large place which produces something LBP needs (who knows, imagination sauce or something), then just make sure it doesn't look as an standar forest for example and there should be no problem. The point in this contest is that the level feels like a factory. If you were not referring to any of those (lolwut) then please try to explain yourself a little more so that we may answer you proper question

Well my idea was that what happens is you travel through a factory infested with some main antagonist, a boss battle, then finally restoring power to the factory, thus ending the level. Would something like that qualify?

Well, a bossfight in a factory is a little bit strange but i think it would be no problem if the boss fits to the factory, for example a big machine that went alive through...(put idea here). A big machine as a boss fight would fit better with a factory than something different. your idea: You could run through the factory and all machines went alive and are evil now and you have to 'repair' the factory and at the end is a boss fight with a big machine. Was that your idea? It is also possible to use some factory workers as enemies. As long as everything fits to the theme everything is allowed. But we dont want to see a dancing Bannana in a metal factory as a boss fight

Hey we had a bit argument with Pyrotrooper in the chat about one thing in the contest and I want to know answer from the DeKa. I don't wanna tell what Pyro answered, because it might change DeKa's answer too and that would be annoying (also trusting that Pyro won't tell secretly about this to DeKa). So to the question: Why we are not allowed to participate to this competition with 2 different factory level entries? If these levels had nothing to do with each other, only the creator would be the same I do not see why hard work wouldn't be payed off by allowing someone to publish many entries. For example if someone had 2 level styles he wanted to use but they wouldn't work in 1 level, he would maybe want to do separate levels... So what I want is the reason for this, not answer: "It is not allowed."

Sorry pal, but basically every contest (almost) that has ever been held by different LBP fansites state one very clear thing: ONLY ONE ENTRY PER PERSON. Not even level links are allowed! Why is it not allowed? Because it is in the rules. And rules are created for a purpose, they all make thing more fair for everyone. EDIT: I was thinking... Another important reason onky one level is allowed (including no-level linking) is because part of the challenge is to create some awesome entry in the parameters of just ONE thermo. Think about it, it actually makes sense! Please submit one entry only

Is it okay for me to make a long-ish introduction cutscene, in the same level, that starts outside the factory? The cutscene starts with Sackthing back at Craftworld when he/she is informed of an intruder in the Level Badge factory! He/She then sets off in his/her ship to the factory. There's only one scene viewing the actual factory before the cutscene ends and the gameplay starts...in the factory. As you can read, most of the scenes will be outside the factory.

So I've been wondering another thing: In the task it says that you should try to use the factory machines and the things it produces well with gameplay, but the categories you will rate are Gameplay, design, originality, sound and extra points. So my question is; is it really important to implement the machines in the gameplay to get a high score or will unique gameplay do?

Yes, you should try to include the machines into the gameplay. You dont have to include all machines but we want see factories with a clever use of the product and machines (that you canuse as obstacle)

I'm sorry if this has been answered. My idea is that the factory of (Characters name) is taken over by some evil being. The evil guy is using the factory to ship out evil sackbots or something and you have to go through the factory and defeat him. Could i do that?

@LJRobey: The main and basically only request of this contest is that the factory has to produce something LBP needs, so maybe you should change your idea to something like the factory produced something (like Sackbots) and then some evil guy corrupted the factory and Sackboy has to help, but please try ro fulfill that only very requirement that we are asking @buttarms: I'd really love to see an entry by you buttarms, even if its a simple one just-for-fun Good luck with your music school as well

Yes, the crown is compatible with all LBP games, even LBPKarting I believe. You can publish your level whenever you want Harra, but it must be BEFORE the deadline, and no more updates after that date, to avoid disqualification please

Not sure if this was asked already, too lazy to read all the replies. But does the factory need to be actually working one? I mean for example if the product was a walking box with legs and would include candy in it; would the factory need to actually build this object or is it enough if it visually looks like it builds it? You know, cheating your eyes? Can't explain any better in English. I'm also considering entering this competition with my friend if we get any ideas and if I get motivated to create something.

Yes Pate, the factory does not need to literally build whatever it builds literally in front of your eyes, it is more like a story-requirement. If it builds "imagination soda" then its fine if you just state that and put those sodas all over the place, I dunno. You have quite a lot of freedom in this contest

Yes and No. It depends on your level. Here are some examples: 1. When you create a level with a factory that doesn't work because it is broken (or some different things ;) and you have to 'repair' (or whatever). Or when you have to turn on the electricity that it works. -> The machines don't have to work because the main task in your level is to make that the factory works at the end 2. When you create a level in a normal factory (christmas, chocolate.. whatever) and the main goal in your level is to find or to defeat the bad boss (or whatever) and the machines are not affected -> We would be very happy to see some working machines that are not affacted (in case that some others are) that you include into your gameplay like band-conveyor(or whatever). Off course you can can combine both Example: First you have to save factory (no working machines) and than after your saved/or repaired it you have to escape as fast as you can because you pressed the self destruction button (running over working machines to escape) But when you make a factory with broken machines we still want to see your product. You can nclude it into the gameplay even if it doesn't move because the machines don't work It is enough if it visually looks like the factory produces it. Use emitters for the different steps. We don't want to see machines that glue single legs to your box, that would be much to complicated for you guys. For example: Your box falls through a metal tube and at the end of the tube is the new box with the legs I hope this is what you asked

@yoghurt2000: There is no minimum/maximum lenght specified in the rules, that really depends on your criteria. About 5 mins. is a good standard but you can make it shorter or larger, it doesn't really affect the score (unless it is too short e.g. 1 min of gameplay only, or too long e.g. 30 mins!).

After hard decision I can now confirm here that I am going to enter this competition. I have gotten special secret team to my help and together we are going to take out all other levels. I am right now somewhere in Berlin having a vacation. Here I have charged my batteries full and ready for hard working progress throughout next weeks. I have also visited few museums taking pictures getting different unique design ideas crossing out bad ones and choosing the best ones possible. Here I had also time to sketch fully the factory product and had time to think different ways the factory can make the product out. While I have been here, rest of the team has been making possible obstacles for the level and has made our unique gameplay system to work even better way. Maybe the product is actually this level. After all it is what the community really needs. (it is a joke)

I would love nothing more that to be part of this contest but I'm about to the point of giving up creating. I see so many amazing lvs out there and I feel so shamed of what I've created so far when I am in create mode I'm so happy with the things I come up with and what I've just created then I'll take a break and play a few lvs only to see something so amazing and I think to myself there's no way I could create something like that then I'm down and out ready to throw in the towel! I know I'm no where as good of a creator as some of the people out there are but what I've learned I've taught myself. This contest seems to be amazing and endless of ideals you could go with it. Is really love to be a part of the LBP community and get more involved. I have lots of time on my hands and as sad as it may be LBP is my greatest past time. I'm kind of backward when it comes to meeting people and very easy intimidated by people who know so much about logic creation so I stay to my self creating thing that will never e seen. I hope it was alright I took up this space here to express how I feel about LBP and creating? Would love to have some friends who liked to create as much as I do... You can't learn to ride a bike without practicing. Point is, you shouldn't stop creating because you think you can never win others. Instead thinking of winning others, try winning yourself. Set your own goals and reach the top of the impossible mountain. If you don't win, you at least know you tried your very best and you have done a new masterpiece to community. I hate this bad atmosphere between our creators. Everyone is thinking to winning! Who cares about community. The first point is you must enjoy creating and make it for fun. Not for such a unuseful goals like Team Picks, Spotlights, or even crown. The reason you enter a contest is competing. Right. But why you guys care so much about it? At most you won't win and you'll enter another contest. Don't count yourself a completely pro creator. It makes you stop growing even if you need the growth. Always count yourself a begginer and expect to not only win or be the first. Same as i do. Our problem in the community is not only copiers. It's this greediness that makes creators fail. Or some reach their goal and leave to other games. If you're enjoying creating, never care about high goals. You will reach it if you deserve it. I know what your problem is. You are worry about the length of gameplay. But what you have done so far is really great. And as judges say, the length doesn't matter. Don't worry about that. t they Don't care about what others do. Maybe you just like them. But our judges decide what they like. However your level is really good, tho. Don't worry about that alot and as i said if you just create for fun it won't make you to decide to leave creating..

Well I messed up big time! Yesterday when I was going to back up my work I noticed I had an unnamed planet published and I knew there shouldn't have been anything there because I was going to revamp all of my lvs... The unnamed lv was a back up I published when is first started on it and forgot... It was just the start of the lv made out of cardboard with an elevator ... I looked and it had 2 plays I'm sorry but I'm not going to be able to change it now because the elevator is a big link to how the lv operates I almost cried when I saw it there. I've been working non stop on this not even taking Tim to play a lv.....so heart broken

You can republish as many times as you want BEFORE the deadline. After that, you'd need an special permission from Deka to repiblish an only if your level had some really serious bug/special circumstances.

We are probably disqualified but I have to say only reason to it is because we had to fix about 4 bugs (!!!!) that were stopping players from finishing the level. I understand if you disqualifie, we did against the level rules and it was fully done about one hour after the actual ending time. I do not care anymore that much since the finished level is not IMO so cool as I wanted it to be. I won't be probably entering contests anymore because making levels to dead line is crazy especially when you are working with a team and you have to play at the same time. Last night I slept only 4 hours because I wanted to finish the level. Sadly now it feels like all the hard work didn't really pay off... Still good luck to everyone else, there is few cool levels out there, not sure at all what will win.
