I am sick and tired of Sumo Digital and their con artist ways. They have sold us an unfinished product and run away with our money. Why bother to finish the game, they reason, when they already have our money? That would be an unwise business decision. They?d rather churn out more DLC than fix the game. I bet they have a level pack in development right now. Let?s all forget about the game?s problems and spend more money on DLC. I know what you?re up to, Sumo Digital, and I don?t like it. Now is the time to stand up against injustice. We must boycott all Sumo Digital products. Who?s with me?

Seleven7, that's Sony's fault. They needed at least 3 months but sony rushed them to release it on Black Friday
Also, I don't know if your blind or something because they care. Last update made it almost as stable as LBP2. It's amazing how "great" this game is in comprasion to day one. Greetings -Pan_Ziemniak |

My game is just fine, I appreciate all the effort put into this wonderful game, and they are constantly finding ways to fix the bugs. They are MUCH better at this then Sony, remember? LittleBigPlanet 2, new update, fix about three bugs, added 20. Sumo Digital, fix Bugs, nearly no new bugs. Sumo Digital is so nice, being so open to hearing people out on their issues. Like Pan_Ziemniak said, Sony rushed them. They worked on this game for years. I watched the original versions of Adventure Mode, and WOW! It has changed! And I do not want a stop in DLC! Just maybe Disney's, but not a stop in all DLC! I would want to boycott bacon more than Sumo Digital, well, probably because I would like too. But that is not the point! Sumo Digital did better than Media Molecule, in my opinion. I would like to play Adventure Mode more than once, it is just that fun! Sumo Digital, stay just how you are. Seleven7, please look at positives.

I have enough money on PSN to get me a copy, but I don't feel convinced by this game. I rather stick to the vita because why change something that's already perfect for me? Most people left LBPV for LBP3 because there is a bigger chance to get popular. You know, more players, easy Team Picks and stuff.

I can look at it either way. I can hate the fact that they released an unfinished game, yet understand how much pressure Sony put on Sumo by cutting their time.
I love any of the LBP games, I've played them for a couple of years (and I'm considering getting LBP Vita later in this year) so I understand that there are many bugs and glitches that take a while to get patched. I wished they'd release not-so-pointless DLC, such as new levels and stories etc, rather than DISNEY DLC :/ (Seriously, has the marketing campaign changed THAT MUCH?) @DiamondDiancie10 I don't think Sumo is very responsive, I've contacted them for help and bug report, haven't been contacted back for like 3 months now. Bugs that I reported haven't been fixed. These bugs are the ones that absolutely make me rage, my sackboy breaking, popit breaking etc. So I really can't say that what you said is true (for me...) Oh yeah, don't say anything like that about Mm! Mm made LBP, so I still think they did a brilliant job compared to Sumo. Story mode was bland for me, too repetitive, at the start I was like Ooh! After finishing Manglewood, I just felt it really lacked. Couldn't they have made it so you didn't have to keep getting boring orbs to unlock a new character, you know, get some diversity into it! Gameplay was pretty repetitive as well, other than just gaining a new powerup, just by constantly blink telporting past lasers and boosting into a bubble and then onto a ledge, or just flying while sticky swords suddenly poke out. Or how about weighing down platforms, and then getting flinged upwards... (I did like the Manglewood Crypts level though.) Not so creative if you look into it with more and more detail... These are my opinions/beliefs, and this probably shouldn't be ABOUT LBP3, rather more towards Sumo Digital. But I'll just state my opinion about LBP3 & Sumo while you're at it. |

You shouldn't blame all of Sumo however.
Like any other game company, there are seperate teams within the whole team, like level design, art, music and sound and all that jazz. But also programming. And Sumo's track record isn't that good when it comes to releasing bug free games. It's always been bad. The level design in LBP3 is great, the music is great, and the sound is great, it's just Sumo's programmers aren't that good. SteveBigGuns said something about it too, which I think got him fired... Also Sumo had a deadline, so combine that with a bad track record and you got yourself LBP3. |

online play on lbp3 seems pretty stable for me. i have decent internet so that helps... as for my ps3.. it has an issue that sometimes randomly signs me out of psn (no matter what game i'm playing) but that's my system. not lbp3.

I agree with Seleven7, but unfortunately "The Station" makes the DLC, not "Sumo Digital". Also, about 5-7 people are working on this game now, because that's the usual process when a game is being made in a studio, about 80-100 people are working on it and after it's released only up to 8 people work on it. (Exception: Triple AAA MMO's). They should've delayed the game by 3 months MINIMAL.
But since I've given up on this game and I got this game for ?20 at the time, I don't really care. |

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think that the release date was Sumo's choice. Sony can't just force someone to release a game early. They probably decided to release it early because they previewed the game at E3 last year, and there was a chance that the hype about the game could die down by the time Black Friday rolls around this year, which is when games are usually released and probably when they would've released LBP3 if they had decided not to release it last year.

hmm.. that's possible as well @Fox. and @SoundFriction, that's a good point to bring up. they have a lot less people working on a game after it actually releases. they have budget too i'm sure

No, LBP is a Sony property, and LBP3 is a Sony product. Sony sets the release dates, and the budget. They also choose which developer gets to design and program the game. Most of the visual design in LBP3 owes its existence to MM's designs in LBP and LBP2, so I'm not really impressed by Sumo right now. At the same time, though, I'm not going to be too harsh or join any "hater's club." As much as they're struggling with it, there is some effort going into it. They'll learn. (I hope.)
As for the DLC, I think it's safe to assume that those are planned way ahead of time, and don't depend on what bugs they're working on. I'd bet good money that they've already finished any DLC that's due out in the next year, and it's just waiting for its scheduled date. |

yea.. I personally don't know that much about how all that works. as you said before, you used to be involved in stuff like this. maybe Sumo just isn't very good (or have the grounds) at negotiating with Sony about what they need. I know that there is usually a disconnect between corporate and the people that actually do the work.

Thanks DiamondDiance10! Really appreciate the kind words! LittleBigPlanet is anything but usual! I can assure you that we have more than eight people working on LittleBigPlanet now and the LittleBigPlanet team covers a wide variety of disciplines that are all working around-the-clock to address your feedback and to bring new updates and content to you! I apologise if you feel that your feedback isn't being listened too. Whilst we may not be able to personally respond to all messages, I can promise you that we're reading all of the feedback and reports coming our way and prioritising issues according to how widespread they are and the nature of the issue. If you would like to discuss your own issues personally though, feel free to get in touch with me on these forums by shooting me a PM. Out of curiosity, what about LittleBigPlanet PS Vita is more appealing to you than LittleBigPlanet 3? Whilst it is true that we try to schedule content ahead of time, we certainly don't go that far ahead and we wouldn't prioritise releasing Costume DLC over addressing any issues that are important to the community. The DLC released so far has just been stuff that we had licensed in advance but other than that, we have been much more focused on addressing the issues that you're reporting via our regular Game Updates. |
